As a professional writer with 20 years of experience writing, editing, and researching, I can help you put together a strong presentation. I also bring 13 years of freelancing, marketing, and entrepreneurial  experience. I can help you pitch yourself with clarity and ease.

My feedback is thorough but affirming and educational. You’ll gain a lot from the experience.

The Proofreading Process

All edits are done through Drive. You can provide me with either a Drive doc or a Word doc. If you send me a Word doc, I’ll add it to drive and share it with you using your email. I can provide you with a short tutorial if you need help navigating Drive.

Here’s an overview of how the editing process will go:

• You provide me with a Word or Drive document.
• I use suggest edits and comments to show you what I would change
• You decide on your own what changes to accept and what revisions to make
• I do a second pass using the same process to tidy up the second draft

Please note: You must return your revisions within 2 weeks to receive the second pass. Contact me if you have questions or need an accommodation.

What I look for as I proofread

Be aware that you will receive a decent number of suggestions and comments from me. They will always be gentle and affirming. Having your work edited can be an intimidating process, but you’ll learn so much. I’ll make sure to leave you tips and links that will help you as you write. 

For the first pass, you’ll get edits that are focused on big-picture issues:

• Organization, structure, and cohesion
• Clarity and depth
• Accuracy
• Message Efficiency
• Presuasiveness and audience appeal

The second pass will focus more on sentence-level issues:

• Punctuation
• Sentence structure
• Sentence Clarity
• Word Efficiency
